Jani Friedman is a multi-channel beauty expert advising leading prestige retailers and brands on growth strategy. She has a proven reputation for identifying sustainable unique selling propositions (“USP”) in the market.

Jani has over 25 years of beauty and fashion experience in retail merchandising, brand development, investment banking, business development, e-commerce, product technology and design.  She was most recently the Chief Merchandising Office at Dermstore where she was responsible for their strategy, curation, and growth of more than 500 professional and prestige beauty brands sold exclusively through e-commerce and mobile.

Prior to joining Dermstore, Jani led new brand development for Guthy-Renker, the largest direct response marketer globally. During that time, she spearheaded the DRTV launch of several beauty brands including Crepe Erase, IT Cosmetics, and Beauty Biosciences. Prior to Guthy-Renker, she was Managing Director, Investment Banking at Demeter Group where she created and led their Beauty practice for more than five years. Before Demeter Group, Jani was Vice President & Divisional Merchandise Manager at Sephora, where she had responsibility for Skincare & Hair Care, overseeing 60 prestige beauty brands.

Jani received her Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University and her M.B.A from Harvard Business School. She is an active member of Cosmetic Executive Women and Women in Retail Leadership.
